Council elections
The 2008 local government elections were held on Saturday March 15.
Local government elections are held every four years in Queensland. In the Redlands voters elect one Mayor, and vote for a Councillor to represent the Division in which they live. There are 10 Divisions in the Redlands.

Voting is compulsory
You have to vote if you:
- are over 18 years
- are an Australian citizen
- have lived for at least one month in a Queensland electoral district
- are a British subject who is not an Australian citizen, but who was on the Commonwealth of Australia electoral roll on 25 January 1984 or the Queensland electoral roll as at 31 December 1991
