Holiday activities

School holiday activities are held around the Redlands, catering for young children up to teenagers.
In partnership with local organisations, Council coordinates Alive and Kicking healthy and active holiday programs held at various locations, and Fun in the Parks free outdoor recreation at six Council parks.
Council also manages the popular and free Redland libraries school holiday activities, and our fully-accredited vacation care service provides further options for families.
Alive and Kicking healthy and active holiday programs
Get active these school holidays!
Who: Kids and teens up to age 16 years
When: From 10 December 2011 - 20 January 2012
Where: Various locations throughout Redlands
What: Activities provided by local organisations include pool parties, bushwalks and environmental craft, ten pin bowling, gardening, gymnastics and outdoor adventure. There’s something for everyone!
Cost: Varies. Please book and pay directly with the activity provider.

Fun in the parks
Free outdoor fun and recreation coordinated in partnership with Redlands PCYC.
Who: Kids and teens age 4 – 14.
When and where: Six events will run at different parks in the Redlands (see schedule).
What: AFL Auskick, Brisbane Roar soccer, jumping castle, games and climbing wall.
Cost: Free. Parents are required to register their child on the day.
Redland libraries school holiday activities
Check out the free school holiday activities on at your local library.
Who: Kids aged 4 – 12 years
When: From 12 December 2011 - 20 January 2012
Where: At Council’s five mainland and island libraries
What: Activities include Christmas craft, the CSIRO show and pirates and princesses’ day out
Cost: Free
Redland City Council Vacation Care
If you work, or have other commitments, your children will receive quality care with this stimulating and enjoyable program in a caring and relaxed environment.
Who: School age children
When: Operates 6.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday throughout the school holidays. Services close from 26 December 2011 and reopen on 9 January 2012 (except for Cleveland service, which reopens on 3 January).
Where: 10 locations at primary schools in the Redlands, include a new service at Redland Bay
Cost: From $6.76 to $47.00 per child/per day, dependent upon your childcare benefit entitlements. Special activities such as Karaoke 4 Kids, The Beats Bus, Little Green Thumbs and Professor Jellybean available (extra costs apply).
