Safety
Let’s keep the Redlands a safe place to live, work and play!
Council wants to ensure that residents and visitors enjoy a high quality of life, free from fear of crime. Council’s Community Safety Program identifies and responds to issues of crime, safety and anti-social behaviour within the Redlands.
Local crime trends are identified through consultation with police and local residents. The Community Safety Officer undertakes policy and project development to address crime-related issues.
Current projects and priorities include:
- Community halls audits
- Community safety forums
- Online graffiti database
- Community graffiti removal days
- Graffiti and vandalism reduction
- Public facility security improvement
- Fear of crime reduction.
For more information on any of these projects, contact Council's community safety officer.
Council is working to ensure new developments are safe and secure. Existing areas are being upgraded to minimise opportunities for crime and anti-social behaviour.
Safety and security advice is also provided to local residents via seminars and information sheets. Download a copy of the Council’s
