Community Grants

If you are part of a not-for-profit organisation, sponsored by an incorporated not-for-profit organisation or community group or community organisation and believe your application will provide benefits to the residents of Redland City, then Council’s
Community Grants program may be for you.
Council’s community grants are available for initiatives such as sport and recreation, community development, arts and cultural heritage, festivals and events, enterprise development and environment.
Grant categories available
The categories available under the Community Grants Program are:
- Mayor's Small Grants - Offering assistance to groups requiring a small amount of funding for things like unexpected costs. To support individuals for achieving high-level excellence.
- Organisation Support Grant - Offering funding for projects associated with becoming more sustainable and improving capacity to deliver services.
- Project Support Grant - Offering support for projects that deliver long-term positive outcomes for the community.
- Conservation Grants - Offering support for conservation projects for the benefit of the environment and wildlife.
- Capital Infrastructure Grants - To help build, renovate or refurbish community facilities.
- Sponsorship - Financial contribution or value in-kind to support an event, project, service or activity, providing tangible and measurable commercial benefits to Council and the community.

Round 2 Successful Recipients Approved under Community Grants Program
Anti-bullying, koalas and marine rescue themes highlight diversity of Community Grants Program funding.
Council approved funding of $200,367 for 35 applications under Round 2 of the Community Grants Program for the categories Organisation Support, Project Support and Conservation Grants.

Next Funding Round - Community Grants Round 1 2012/13
The next round for funding for the categories Organisation Support, Project Support, Conservation Grants, Capital Infrastructure and the Regional Arts Development Fund will open on 23 July 2012 and close on 31 August 2012.

You can also meet with a Council Officer who can provide advice on developing your application and who can also provide feedback to you on your draft application before you submit it.
Free Grant Application Writing Workshops
Free Grant Application Writing Workshops will be held between 19 July 2012 and 2 August 2012. Eligible individuals and organisations who wish to apply for funding in Round 1 2012/13 are encouraged to attend the workshops. These workshops provide tips to applicants on how to write an application.

Guidelines

Full program details including information on categories, funding available and eligibility requirements are available in the Grants and Sponsorship Program Guidelines. It is important you read this document prior to making an application. This guideline will provide you with the required information and eligibility requirements on your grant application.
To finalise your project, you must complete and return to the Community Grants Team an Acquittal Form for your project within 14 days of the completion date. Applicants that do not acquit their project are ineligible to apply for funding under Council’s various funding programs until such time as they have completed this form.
The Acquittal Form requires you to provide information on the project, including objectives, outputs and impact and a financial statement, including invoices/receipts, showing the funding received and spent.
