Celebrating in our parks

Many locals and visitors like to celebrate Australia Day in our beautiful parks.

If you plan on heading outdoors, we ask - for everyone's safety and enjoyment - that you:

• be respectful of other people in public places
• use the bins in our parks to clean up any rubbish
• celebrate responsibly

To make sure everyone can enjoy Australia Day, Council officers and police will be patrolling parks across the city on 26 January. 

Wellington Point Reserve Parking

• Entry to the reserve will be controlled by a boom gate between 7am and 6pm. 
• Once available car and boat trailer parking spaces are filled, users will be directed to legal parking spaces outside the reserve (boats can be launched all day but will have to find parking outside the reserve if it is full).
• A free Council shuttle bus will run from 7am to 6pm along Main Road between the reserve and Wellington Point shops. It will also pick up from Wellington Point Community Hall car park, Birkdale Road.
