LGAQ - Your local Council
We're the fabric that brings Queensland communities together
When people think of local councils, the general perception tends to begin and end with the basics - 'keeping the wheels oiled' - getting the jobs done that people expect in exchange for their rates.
However, every Queensland council has a very human face.
Councils are staffed by people committed to making their communities as liveable as possible.
Councils do much more than collect rubbish - they offer their communities real value, making their regions better places to live through things like arts and cultural programs, recreational facilities, events and festivals, youth development programs, healthy environments, and through economic development initiatives, help create jobs in their communities.
At the heart of those communities are the hard-working, often unseen, and unsung workers who keep life moving along in a positive direction in many ways.
The local government Promotional Campaign includes some of these very workers and they want you to understand that they are the fabric that brings Queensland communities together.
